- What does it mean to "be
saved" ?
- Don't good people go to
heaven ... ?
- Doesn't water baptism get me
to heaven... ?
- What must I do to be saved ... ?
- What do I do now that I'm
saved.. ?
- How does deliverance come ... ?
The phrase "be saved"
is the term used for salvation.
To understand
salvation, you first need to understand the four spiritual laws:
1.) God loves you.
2.) Sin separates you from God.
3.) Jesus died for your sins.
and
4.) You can be saved by confessing Jesus is Lord.
God loves you so very much (rule #1), but the sin that is in your life separates
you from Him (rule #2). So, God sent His Son, Jesus, to take your sins from you
(rule #3). Now, all you have to do is accept the gift by allowing Jesus to have
absolute control in your life (rule #4). Salvation is what happens when you
accept Jesus as your master. Your sins are separated from you and you are no
longer separated from God.
(John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Romans 3:23)
John 3:16 For God so loved the world [rule # 1] that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him [rule #4] should not
perish but have everlasting life.
Some people live a
clean life, but they still sin. You may not steal or murder, but have you ever
lied? Is there someone you haven't forgiven for wronging you? Do you always
think about other people first? You may think these sins aren't even worth
talking about, but sin is sin. The Bible does not say only certain sins will
separate you from God and Heaven. Romans 3:23 says "all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God." We cannot meet God's standard by ourself. We need
help to get to Heaven.
(Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:8)
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us.
[This is the answer to the question.]
The Good News is that
Jesus' death was payment for our sin, but not only that. His return to life from
the dead and the new life He creates in us is the hope that we too can be with
Him in Heaven. How do you get that for yourself? Thankfully, it is simple.
Romans 10:9 tells us you must say, "Jesus is Lord" and you must believe that God
raised Him from the dead. What does it mean to say Jesus is Lord? You are no
longer the master of your own destiny. Instead, you have chosen to go where
Jesus leads. Jesus paid for you with His life. Now your life, from the moment
you wake in the morning until you go to sleep at night, is His. It is simple,
but not easy. When you don't do what Jesus says, ask Him to forgive you. Then
ask Him to help you do better the next time.
If you are at the
point in your life where you are ready to make a personal commitment to follow
Christ, all you have to do is reach out to Him now in prayer. He is listening
and waiting to come into your heart and help you live a better life. Will you
invite Him in now? If you'd like to pray and receive Christ as your Savior you
can:
Pray this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I ask You to come into my life and forgive me of all my sins. I
confess my sins before You this day. I denounce Satan and all his works. I
confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. Thank You for saving me. I believe with my
heart and I confess with my mouth that You rose from the dead. I am saved. Write
my name in the Lamb's book of life. Today is my God-day with the Lord Jesus! I
pray this prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus. Amen."
If you've prayed this prayer, we would like to send you some material that
will help you to grow as a Christian.

(Romans 10:9, 1 John 3:5-6, 1 John 3:9, 1 John 1:9 )
Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
1 John 3:5-6 5And you know that He was manifested to take away
our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6Whoever abides in Him does not
sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The start of you Christian walk begins with a few things that
will get you started in the right direction.
1. Read Your Bible - Read through the Bible. There are many good
Bible reading plans that will help you read through the entire Bible in one
year. Until you get a reading plan start in the Gospel of John. If you don’t
have a copy of the Bible, you can visit
www.biblegateway.com.
Reading the Bible is very important because if you don’t know what to believe,
you will believe people who don’t know the truth or who want to take advantage
of you.
2. Pray - Spend time praying daily. Prayer is talking to God.
Thanking Him for what you have and what He’s done. Say what’s on your heart. Ask
Him if He wants you to go do something or change anything in your life. Then
wait and listen.
3.
Go
to Church - Find a good
church near you that believes that Jesus is the Son of God and all who believe
in their heart and confess with their mouth will be saved. Go there regularly,
receive the man of God as your pastor, and get involved. If you live in the
Cherry Hill, New Jersey area, we invite you to come to
Covenant Life Church .
If you are not located near us, check out any of the other
FCM Churches that may be available in your area.
4. Fellowship – Make Christian friends and spend time with them.
5. Testify – Tell others about Jesus and what He’s done for you.
You have received God’s salvation for free. Give the same gift to anyone who
will listen. Tell your family and friends. It won’t be easy, but it will be
worth it. You are free to use this material if you desire.
6.
Walk in love and forgiveness. You now have the nature of Christ
in you. If you will allow that nature to rule you, if you will feed that nature
then God’s love will begin to rule you and you can walk in forgiveness towards
those that are around you. If you are having difficulty walking in love you can
download our Bible lesson on “Forgiveness” or listen to our message “Walking In
Love” through Windows Media Player.
If you do those six things, you will be well on your way to
following where Jesus leads you.
(2 Tim. 2:16, Heb. 10:25, Prov. 11:30 Heb 12:14)
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker
who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is
the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see
the Day approaching.
Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who
wins souls is wise.
Hebrews 12:14-15 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which
no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace
of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many
become defiled;
